As we explore the versatility and precision of Nomura's Horizontal Boring Mills with a firsthand account from Mike Rossi, Owner and Founder of Rossi Machinery Services, you will understand why Mike Rossi likes the Nomura brand.
Recently I was approached by SB Machine Tools, to represent NOMURA, DAINICHI, KITAKO, SHIMADA and Max-Grind machines.
Knowing machine tools from all my experiences with different types of machine tools, I was happy to represent all the brands.
NOMURA:
I was particularly enthused to now have Nomura Horizontal Boring Mills to offer my customers.

Many of our customers have older machines that have performed well for decades but have reached the point where they need expensive mechanical rebuilds and control upgrades.
We now have a great solution. Nomura HBM's have built in rotary tables and are available with Automatic Tool Changers and Automatic Pallet Changers.
My History with Nomura Horizontal Boring Mills: Mike Rossi.
Having started my career as a machine tool rebuilder, I can truly appreciate that Nomura mills are hand scrapped which achieves a degree of flatness, squareness and straightness not possible by machining.
I can also attest to the Nomura HBM's quality through my experience as the Maintenance Supervisor at Reuther Mold & Manufacturing in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for eight years. A Nomura HBM was one of the machines that I was responsible for. The machine generally ran two shifts, at times 24/7.
The machine performed to the standards required in the mold making industry on a daily basis. It required minimal maintenance other than gib adjustments, way and hydraulic oil changes or a relay or solenoid valve failure.
The built-in rotary table was consistently used, eliminating the need to tear down set ups.
The built-in rotary table also aides in the compactness and space saving size of the machine.
No headstock travel is lost by having a separate rotary table on the machine table. Thus, resulting in a lower column without sacrificing travel length.
NOMURA'S VALUED HISTORY:
Nomura has been building machine tools for over 100 years. They continue to build on that and constantly add new features with the latest FANUC controls to provide a reliable, productive machine tool that I wholeheartedly endorse.
