With three different Series within the Easy Turn lathe family, we like that Fryer has made a real effort to expand the use of the Easy Turn lathe.
Today, we take a deep dive into the ET-TR Series with the hopes that you can get a better view of what Fryer is offering here. Since each Series offers something unique , the other two series will be discussed in further October blogs. Stay tuned. but today our focus is on the smallest of the Easy Turn lathes: ET-TR series.
It's worth noting here that all of Fryer's machine tools for sale are designed and built in the USA by Craftsmen in their plant in Patterson, New York. We think this is a game changer. As a company that has worked with many different machine tool building companies, sometimes replacement parts take months to obtain. Fryer boasts that they do it better: Fryer features a global distribution network that includes factory trained service engineers. Their warehouse features an impressive stock of spare parts that ship the same day ordered.
That's impressive and drew us in right away. Getting the replacement part down the road shipped the same day is a game changer for us. As you all know Uptime is a must.

All of the ET Series boast of the Dual handwheels for manual control, Do One cycles for semi-auto control, and simple conversational programming with The Fryer / Siemens 828-HS control that is designed for ease of use in low volume toolroom and job shop facilities.
The Siemen's control is a great control on any machine tool. It has a simple menu programming and fast set-up keys that allow you make one-off parts in half the time of a manual machine. The Multi mode operation allows you to use the machine manually, semi-automatic and full CNC mode, making it very versatile. Canned cycles and the graphic verify features make set-up faster and easier. All these features offer a very productive turning machine for sale on the market.
They have specific limitations, as all machine tools have, and that's why we sit down with our customers to review what applications work best with the Easy Turn Lathes, specifically the ET-Series.
And as a small business ourselves, we know that when you spend the money on a machine tool, you need to know what applications are in its wheel house.

The ET-TR Series is a great machine but won't handle the larger pieces and certain applications. We can discuss this Series or any of the other Series Fryer offers in the Easy Turn lathes. Our experts know turning machine tools. Getting the right lathe is important and spending money on only the features you need makes working with us easy.
The other con is that Fryer isn't always the first thought when looking to buy a machine tool, but maybe it should be. Fryer has a prestigious and long list of customers that they serve.
